California Spot Gasoline Advances in Smallest Move This Month

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Spot gasoline in Los Angeles moved the least against futures this month after dropping from a record high set last week.

The premium for California-blend gasoline in Los Angeles gained 4.5 cents to 38.5 cents versus futures traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The premium reached $1.45 a gallon Oct. 4.

The same fuel in San Francisco rose 4.5 cents to 30.5 cents a gallon above futures. That premium also reached a record on Oct. 4 of $1.40 above futures.

California-grade, or CARB, diesel in Los Angeles decreased 1.25 cents to 12 cents a gallon above heating oil futures on the Nymex. The fuel in San Francisco dropped 4.25 cents to a premium of 11.50 cents a gallon versus futures.

Conventional, 87-octane gasoline in Portland, Oregon, decreased 3.5 cents to 19.5 cents a gallon against gasoline futures.
