Oct. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co., the world’s largest crude exporter, suffered an attack on its computer system from a hacker in Eastern Europe, al-Hayat newspaper said, citing people it didn’t name in the company.
Saudi Aramco’s investigations showed that the hacker was retrieving information for a third party from a Western country, the newspaper said.
The state-owned oil company said on Aug. 26 the attack was made on Aug. 15 from an external source and it affected 30,000 workstations but didn’t affect oil and gas production and shipment.
