Oct. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored three goals to lead Real Madrid to a 4-1 win at Ajax in soccer’s Champions League, while Manchester City rallied for a 1-1 tie against Dortmund.
Karim Benzema also scored for Real Madrid in the Group D match in Holland. Mario Balotelli scored with an 89th-minute penalty kick to earn City the home draw in the other group match.
Arsenal beat Olympiacos 3-1 and Montpellier drew 2-2 at Schalke in Group B, while AC Milan defeated Zenit St. Petersburg 3-2 and Malaga beat Anderlecht 3-0 in Group C.
Dynamo Kiev was a 2-0 home winner over Dinamo Zagreb in Group A, and Porto beat PSG 1-0.
