Tottenham rejected an approach by Blackburn to hire Tim Sherwood as coach, the Daily Mail reported.
Sherwood, who trains young players at Spurs, doesn’t have any ambition to become a head coach, the Mail said. Sherwood was captain when Rovers won the 1995 Premiership title.
Alan Shearer is interested in coaching former club Blackburn, the Daily Mirror reported.
Barnsley manager Keith Hill is also a candidate for the job, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Reading may sign Russian winger Denis Cheryshev from Real Madrid’s B team, the Daily Mirror reported.
Royals part-owner Anton Zingarevich said the move is possible after watching the 21-year-old play against Barcelona’s second team, the Mirror said.
