Sept. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Cocoa exports from Ecuador, the world’s top grower of flavored beans used in fine chocolate, fell to 10,172 metric tons in August, a 42 percent decrease from a year earlier.
Ecuador shipments fell from 17,627 metric tons in August 2011, according to an e-mailed statement today from the National Cocoa Exporters Association, known as Anecacao. Exports rose from 6,937 metric tons in July, the group said.
