Sept. 27 (Bloomberg) -- The Cleveland Indians, who are tied for the worst record in the American League, fired manager Manny Acta and put Sandy Alomar Jr. in charge for the remaining six games of the season.
Acta, 43, was in his third season with the Indians. The team was 65-91 after yesterday’s games, tied with the Minnesota Twins for the worst in the AL. The Indians never had a winning season with Acta. Major League Baseball announced the news on its Twitter feed.
