Sept. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Zimbabwe won the toss and will field first against Sri Lanka in today’s opening match in cricket’s ICC World Twenty20 competition.
The Group C game in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, starts at 7:30 p.m. local time (2 p.m. GMT).
Tomorrow Australia plays Ireland in Group B, and Afghanistan meets India in Group A, both games in Colombo.
Defending champion England’s first game in Group A is against Afghanistan in Colombo on Sept. 21.
The top two in each of the four groups go through to a Super Eight stage, from which the top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinals. The final is in Colombo on Oct. 7.
