Sept. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Daewoo Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. in a joint bid with Australia’s Macquarie Group Ltd., as well as Switzerland’s Axpo Holding AG and Italy’s Edison SpA are among six bidders for building a thermoelectric plant in Croatia, portal Energetika said today, citing unidentified people at the national grid Hrvatska Elektroprivreda d.d.
The plant will have a capacity of 500 megawatts and cost 800 million euros ($1 billion) to build, Alenka Ducic, a spokeswoman at the Economy Ministry, said by phone today. HEP said last week it will select bidders by Sept. 28.
