California Spot Gasoline Slips to Lowest Levels in a Month

Spot gasoline in San Francisco and Los Angeles slipped to the lowest levels in a month.

Carbob in San Francisco declined 0.25 cent to 14 cents a gallon above gasoline futures traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 4:21 p.m. New York time, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The fuel in Los Angeles dropped 0.25 cent to 12 cents above gasoline futures.

Stockpiles of California-blend, or Carbob, gasoline fell 7.5 percent to 4.95 million barrels in the week ended Sept. 7, the second consecutive decline. Production dropped 10 percent to 6.08 million barrels.

In Portland, Oregon, conventional, 87-octane gasoline remained unchanged at 10.5 cents a gallon above futures.

California-blend, or CARB, diesel in San Francisco fell 5.5 cents to 4 cents a gallon above heating oil futures on the Nymex, data compiled by Bloomberg showed. That’s the lowest premium since July 25.

CARB diesel inventories rose 399,000 barrels, or 20 percent, to 2.43 million barrels in the week ended Sept. 7, the highest inventory level for the fuel in five weeks.

CARB diesel in Los Angeles slipped 2.75 cents to a premium of 8.5 cents, the lowest level since Aug. 6. Low-sulfur diesel in Portland dropped 1.5 cents to a premium of 11.5 cents, the lowest since Aug. 2.
