Greek Minister Says Still Work Ahead as Troika Meets in Athens

Sept. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Greek Alternate Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said there was “still work ahead” as he left a meeting in Athens between finance ministry officials and the so-called troika of inspectors from the euro area, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras is briefing the troika today on 11.5 billion euros of spending cuts for the next two years. The meeting is continuing. Stournaras is to brief Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and the leaders of the two coalition parties supporting Samaras’s government at 7 p.m. in Athens today.
