Brazil Corn Crop Rose to 72.7 Million Tons, Soy Fell, Conab Says

Sept. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Corn output in Brazil, the world’s third-largest producer, rose to 72.7 million metric tons in the 2011-2012 crop year that ended last month, the government said.

Production rose from 57.4 million tons a year earlier and compares with 72.8 million tons estimated Aug. 9, the Agriculture Ministry’s crop-forecasting agency, known as Conab, said in a report today.

Soybean output dropped to 66.4 million tons, the same as estimated last month, from 75.3 million in the previous crop year.
