CTC Media’s TV Weekly Audience Gains in Russia, TNS-Global Says

CTC Media Inc.’s CTC television channel saw its average daily share of Russian viewers rise in the week to Aug. 19, according to TNS-Global.

The share of Russian viewers aged 18 years and older for CTC TV, the Nasdaq-listed Russian media company’s biggest source of revenue, climbed to 5.3 percent in the week to Aug. 19 from 4.8 percent a week earlier, TNS-Global said by e-mail today. CTC advanced to sixth most-watched TV channel in the week to Aug. 19 from seventh a week earlier.

CTC’s average daily audience among viewers 4 years old and over gained to 5.9 percent in the week to Aug. 19 from 5.2 percent in the previous week, the data show. CTC rose to fifth most-watched TV channel from sixth last week, outpacing Fifth Channel, the researcher said.

Russia’s NTV Television, Rossiya-1, Pervyi Kanal and TNT TV were the top four most watched channels in both categories. Fifth Channel placed ahead of CTC among viewers 18 years and older, the data show.
