Hon Hai Plans to Renegotiate Price of Investment in Sharp

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., the world’s largest contract manufacturer of electronics, plans to renegotiate the price of its investment in Sharp Corp., spokesman Simon Hsing said in a phone interview today.

Hon Hai will renegotiate the March 27 agreement, Hsing said. The Taipei-based company intends to continue with the investment in Osaka-based Sharp, Hsing said. Hon Hai expects to pay less than the 550 yen per share it had agreed to as part of an agreement in March, he said.

“We plan to discuss the investment again, but for sure it won’t be at the original 550 yen per share,” Hsing said.
