Putin Regrets Annan’s Resignation as Syria Envoy, Interfax Says

Aug. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said he regrets the departure of Kofi Annan as the United Nations’ special enjoy to Syria, Interfax reported, citing Putin as saying in London today.

Putin said Annan is “a very decent man and brilliant diplomat,” according to Interfax.

Separately, Putin said Russia and the U.K. are discussing cooperation in the space industry and in the military-technical field, Interfax said.
