CTC Media’s CTC TV Audience Declines in Russia, TNS-Global Says

CTC Media Inc.’s CTC television channel saw its average daily share of Russian viewers aged 18 years and older fall in the week to July 29, according to TNS-Global.

Viewer share for CTC TV, the Nasdaq-listed Russian media company’s biggest source of revenue, fell to 5.2 percent in the week to July 29 from 5.3 percent a week earlier, data researcher TNS-Global said by e-mail today. CTC remained the seventh most-watched TV channel in the country in the week to July 29, the data show.

CTC’s average daily audience among viewers 4 years old and over was unchanged at 5.8 percent, the data show. CTC remained in fifth place among viewers 4 years old and over, TNS-Global said.

Russia’s NTV Television was the most watched in both categories. Rossiya-1, Pervyi Kanal and TNT remained ahead of CTC among viewers 4 years and older, unchanged from the previous week, the data show.

Government-controlled Pervyi Kanal was the second-most watched among viewers 18 and older, pushing Rossiya-1 to the third rank. TNT TV remained in fourth while REN TV and Fifth Channel retained their fifth and sixth ranks among viewers 18 years and older in the week to July 29, the data showed.
