Argentines Protest Power Cuts at Edesur, Edenor, Telam Reports

Aug. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Residents of shanty towns in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires protested today at the offices of two electric utilities over persistent power cuts in their neighborhoods, state-run news agency Telam reported.

The residents want Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte SA and Empresa Distribuidora Sur SA to install meters and improve the reliability of supplies, the agency said.
