Lewis Hamilton Wins Pole Position for F1’s Hungarian Grand Prix

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton topped qualifying for tomorrow’s Hungarian Grand Prix to win his 22nd career pole position.

Hamilton had a time of 1 minute, 20.953 seconds in Budapest to beat Lotus’s Romain Grosjean by 0.41 seconds. It’s the Briton’s third pole of the season.

Two-time defending world champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull was third ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button. Lotus’s Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, Williams’s Pastor Maldonado and Bruno Senna, and Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top-10 qualifiers.

Alonson leads the standings with 154 points after 10 of 20 races, 34 more than Red Bull’s Mark Webber, who qualified 11th. Hamilton is fifth with 92 points.
