Senior Kuwaiti Royal Makes Donation to Aid Debtors, KUNA Says

July 25 (Bloomberg) -- Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, a senior member of Kuwait’s ruling family, has donated 60 million dinars ($213 million) to help Kuwaitis in debt, those getting married, and new holders of doctorates, the state news agency KUNA reported.

Sheikh Salem, who is chief of the Gulf state’s National Guard, is giving 20 million dinars to Kuwaiti loan defaulters, each receiving about $14,200, 20 million dinars to newly married couples, and the remainder to new Kuwaiti doctorate holders, KUNA said, citing a statement from Sheikh Salem.
