Spain’s PP Support Falls on Latest Austerity Plan, El Mundo Says

July 23 (Bloomberg) -- Support for Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy’s People’s Party has fallen 3.3 percentage points after the government’s fourth austerity round, according to a poll in El Mundo.

Support for the PP fell to 35.8 percent of people interviewed from 39.1 percent last month, and 44.6 percent in general elections in November, El Mundo said.

Backing for Izquierda Unida and UPyD rose to 11.7 percent and 7.8 percent respectively from 9.3 percent and 6.8 percent last month, and 6.9 percent and 4.7 percent in the elections.

Rajoy’s image was seen as bad or very bad by 56 percent of people polled.

The poll was conducted by Sigma Dos on July 17 to 19, with 1,000 people interviewed, and the margin of error was 3.16 percent.
