Vietnam’s Equity Movers: Ben Thanh Rubber, Vinh Long Cereal

July 20 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnamese trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 2:15 p.m. close in Ho Chi Minh City.

The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, dropped 0.9 percent to 424.47. The gauge has advanced 1.8 percent this week, the biggest gain since the week ended April 13.

Rubber Stocks: Ben Thanh Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (BRC VN) dropped by the daily limit of 5 percent to 11,400 dong, the biggest decline since May 18. Dong Phu Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (DPR VN) fell 1.9 percent to 51,000 dong. Danang Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (DRC VN) dropped 2.8 percent to 28,000 dong.

December-delivery rubber lost as much as 0.8 percent on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.

Vinh Long Cereal and Food Import Export Co.(VLF VN), a trader of food and agricultural products, fell 4.4 percent to 13,000 dong. Net income fell 17 percent to 2.5 billion dong ($119,932) in the second quarter, it said in a statement filed on the bourse’s website.
