July 6 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index fell 0.3 percent to 7,368.59, capping a 1 percent gain this week.
AmTRAN Technology Co. (2489 TT), the maker of Vizio Televisions, gained 1.3 percent to NT$24.2. The company said sales rose 37 percent from a year earlier in June.
Ardentec Corp. (3264 TT), a maker of integrated circuit wafers, added 0.7 percent to NT$21.15. The company said it signed a seven-year loan with a group of eight banks.
Largan Precision Co. (3008 TT), a manufacturer of optical lens modules, fell 3.3 percent to NT$582. The company said sales dropped 24 percent from a year earlier in June.
HTC Corp. (2498 TT), Asia’s second-largest smartphone maker, slid 5.2 percent to NT$322. The company is due to report second-quarter earnings today. The average of 20 analyst estimates is for profit of NT$7.97 billion ($267 million). Citigroup Inc. cut its estimate for HTC shares to NT$250 from NT$310, Kevin Chang, an analyst at the bank, wrote in a report.
Qisda Corp. (2352 TT), a maker of consumer electronics products, rose 1.1 percent to NT$7.33. The company said June sales rose 15 percent from a year earlier.
Simplo Technology Co. (6121 TT), a lithium battery manufacturer, gained 0.7 percent to NT$208. The company said sales increased 19 percent from a year earlier last month.
