July 5 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Sao Paulo trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the market close. Preferred shares are usually the most-traded class of stock.
The Bovespa Index rose 0.5 percent to 56,379.06.
BrasilAgro-Cia. Brasileira de Propriedades Agricolas (AGRO3 BS) fell 1.4 percent to 7.55 reais. Shareholder Elie Horn resigned from the company’s board and will exit its controlling group for personal reasons, the farmland company said in a regulatory filing today.
Grupo BTG Pactual (BBTG11 BS) gained 2.8 percent to 30.35 reais. The investment bank said in a regulatory filing its unit BTG Pactual Participations Ltd. sold its stake in STR Projetos e Participacoes em Recursos Natural, an oil and gas holding company, for 699.7 million reais ($346 million).
Vale SA (VALE5 BS) added 1.2 percent to 40.50 reais. China, Vale’s top export market, cut benchmark interest rates for the second time in a month, stepping up efforts to reverse a slowdown in the world’s second-biggest economy.
