Taiwanese Stock Movers: CoAsia, E-Ton Solar, Wintek, Yulon Motor

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.

The Taiex Index added 0.1 percent to 7,422.59, capping a four-day, 3.5 percent gain.

CoAsia Microelectronics Corp. (8096 TT), which provides integrated circuit design services, tumbled 7 percent to NT$36.05, the biggest drop since June 4. CoAsia said Samsung Taiwan will sell memory chips directly to HTC Corp., bypassing the company as a distributor.

E-Ton Solar Tech Co. (3452 TT), a manufacturer of solar cells, advanced 2.4 percent to NT$15.25. Sales rose 32 percent from a year earlier in June, according to a statement filed to the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Wintek Corp. (2384 TT), a maker of liquid crystal displays, dropped 3.3 percent to NT$16. Consolidated sales dropped 28 percent from a year earlier to NT$7.3 billion ($244.9 million) in June, the company said in a statement.

Yulon Motor Co. (2201 TT), an automaker, added 1 percent to NT$52.70. The company said it’s evaluating plans to enter the Russian market as part of an overseas expansion strategy.
