July 2 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of the close of trading in Buenos Aires. The Merval Index rose 1 percent to 2,369.22.
Holcim Argentina SA (JMIN AF), a cement producer, fell 3.1 percent to 3.10 pesos. Argentina’s construction activity fell 5.4 percent in May from a year earlier, the national statistics institute reported June 29.
Natural gas distributors rallied after a report in the newspaper BAE said Metrogas SA (METR AF) may receive a 100 million-peso ($22 million) loan from Banco de la Nacion. Argentina fueled speculation other companies in the industry may also receive government aid, said Leonardo Bazzi, head of research at Buenos Aires-based brokerage Puente Hermanos SA.
Transportadora de Gas del Sur SA (TGSU2 AR) rose 1.8 percent to 2.24 pesos. Transportadora de Gas del Norte SA (TGNO4 AF) advanced 2.9 percent to 47 centimos. There was no trading in Metrogas, which closed at 60 centimos on June 29.
