June 29 (Bloomberg) -- Saudi King Abdullah has ordered the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the official Saudi Press Agency reported, citing Finance Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf.
The mosque will be expanded in three phases, the minister said today in a statement to SPA. Medina, in western Saudi Arabia, is the second-holiest city in Islam after Mecca and the resting place of the Prophet Mohammed.
