June 27 (Bloomberg) -- India’s Mehta Group will get a $23 million loan from Proparco, the private investment unit of the French Development Agency, to expand its Ugandan sugar plant, New Vision reported, citing Mahendra Mehta, the group’s chairman.
The 10-year loan will enable Sugar Corporation of Uganda Ltd. to double production to 100,000 tons by 2015, the Kampala-based newspaper reported. It didn’t provide details of the loan agreement.
