The Ipsa index increased 0.3 percent to 4,337.07. The MSCI Chile index gained 1.2 percent to 2,343.99.
Latam Airlines Group SA (LAN CC) gained 0.7 percent to 13,189 pesos. Cross trades by Santiago-based brokerages Banchile Inversiones, Celfin Capital SA and Larrain Vial SA worth about $301 million accounted for 96 percent of volume today in the Latin America’s largest carrier, according to data from the Santiago stock exchange. Traded volume was almost nine times the average of the past three months.
Multiexport Foods SA (MULTIFOO CC) jumped 5.4 percent to 112.80 pesos, the biggest gain in almost seven months. Norway salmon export prices rose 6.4 percent in the week, according to Statistics Norway.
Sigdo Koppers SA (SK CC) rose 0.8 percent to 1,198 pesos, its second day of gains. The Chilean industrial holding company’s mining equipment unit will open a second production facility in Thailand, Chairman Juan Eduardo Errazuriz said in an interview with Pulso, a Chilean newspaper. An official at Nexos, Sigdo Koppers’s external public relations agency, confirmed the interview while declining to comment further.
