June 19 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close.
The SET Index fell 0.2 percent to 1,163.41.
Auto-parts makers: Thailand’s vehicle sales in May surged 108 percent to 115,943 units, a monthly record, Toyota Motor Corp.’s Thai unit said in an e-mailed statement today.
Thai Stanley Electric Pcl (STANLY TB) climbed 1.3 percent to 190.5 baht. Somboon Advance Technology Pcl (SAT TB) was unchanged at 27.25 baht. Aapico Hitech Pcl (AH TB) was unchanged at 13.9 baht.
Siam Commercial Bank Pcl (SCB TB): Siam Commercial Bank is in talks with Thailand’s finance ministry to buy a 26 percent stake in TMB Bank Pcl through a share swap, Thai-language Kao Hoon reported, citing an unidentified ministry official. Siam Commercial may swap one share for 60 shares of TMB Bank owned by the finance ministry, the report said. Ongorn Abhakorn Na Ayuthaya, a spokeswoman for Siam Commercial Bank, denied the report. The report has “no ground in fact,” she said in a text message.
Siam Commercial declined 1.4 percent to 141.5 baht. TMB Bank (TMB TB) gained 2 percent to 1.56 baht.
