Peru Stocks: Candente, Casa Grande, Credicorp, Southern

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the close in Lima.

The Lima General Index rose 0.3 percent to 20,776.54. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index climbed 1.2 percent to 2,777.66.

Casa Grande (CASAGRC1 PE), Peru’s largest sugar producer and a unit of Gloria SA, rose 2.5 percent to 13.33 soles after sugar jumped to a one-month high in New York.

Credicorp Ltd. (BAP PE), Peru’s largest financial-services company, advanced for a third day, adding 2.4 percent to $126.41. The rise was in line with gains by its New York-traded American depositary receipts and U.S. banks, said Francisco Miranda, an analyst at Lima-based investment fund NC&F Inversiones SA.

Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO PE), Peru’s biggest copper producer, gained 1.8 percent to $31.35 after copper advanced in New York.

Candente Copper Corp. (DNT PE), a Canadian exploration company, rose 1.7 percent to 58 cents.

Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., climbed 1.4 percent to $37.
