Aboitiz, Manila Electric, Vista Land: Philippine Stock Preview

June 18 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies may have unusual price changes in Philippine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of the previous close.

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index fell 1.8 percent to 4,930.63.

Aboitiz Power Corp. (AP PM), Manila Electric Co. (MER PM): Electricity prices may rise in August, Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras said in a briefing. Power plants fueled by Royal Dutch Shell Plc’s Malampaya gas will have to use more expensive liquid condensates as the gas facility will be shut, Almendras said. Aboitiz fell 2.3 percent to 31.80 pesos. Manila Electric lost 0.8 percent to 238 pesos.

Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc. (VLL PM): The builder’s dividend may rise to 12 centavos this year, Chief Financial Officer Ricardo Tan said by phone. The company last year paid a regular and special dividend totaling 10.5 centavos. The stock fell 2 percent to 3.97 pesos.
