June 13 (Bloomberg) -- Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will leave the Premier League soccer club after failing to reach agreement on a new contract, Sky Sports News reported.
Redknapp was seeking to extend his current deal, which has 12 months remaining. The 65-year-old will leave the club in the next 24 hours, Sky Sports reported, without saying where it got its information.
Tottenham was fourth in the Premier League last season amid reports in U.K. media Redknapp was to become the next manager of the England national team. The finish would have qualified Spurs for the Champions League, but the team lost its spot when Chelsea won Europe’s top club competition.
Redknapp joined Tottenham in October 2008 with the team last in the standings and led it to an eighth-place finish. Spurs were fourth the following season to claim their first-ever berth in the Champions League, where it reached the quarterfinals during the 2010-11 season.
