Taiwan Premier Accepts Finance Minister’s Resignation

May 30 (Bloomberg) -- Taiwan Premier Sean Chen accepted the resignation of Finance Minister Christina Liu, Cabinet spokesman Hu Yu-wei said by phone today.

Liu on May 29 announced her resignation after disagreeing with legislators from the ruling Kuomintang party over a proposed capital gains tax.

The Cabinet names deputy finance minister Tseng Ming-chung as acting Finance Minister, it said in an e-mailed statement today.
