May 28 (Bloomberg) -- An Air Canada Boeing 777, bound for Tokyo’s Narita airport, made an emergency landing at Toronto’s Pearson airport after an engine shut down, the company said.
Flight AC001, which took off from Toronto at 2:10 p.m. local time, was carrying 318 passengers and 16 crew, according to an e-mailed statement today.
There were no injuries in the incident, Peter Fitzpatrick, a company spokesman, said in a telephone interview.
“After the take-off there was an engine shutdown and the crew implemented standard operating procedures to return to Toronto,” the company said in the statement.
Reports of debris from the plane couldn’t be confirmed, Air Canada said.
