May 25 (Bloomberg) -- Iran’s navy thwarted pirate attacks on two Iranian oil-tankers this week, the Fars News Agency said.
An Iranian tanker was attacked by pirate boats at the start of the week near Muscat in the Gulf of Oman, Fars said on its website today, citing a statement from the navy. Another tanker was assaulted close to the Bab el-Mandeb strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, it said.
No injuries were reported, according to Fars, without saying where it got the information.
