Bud Now a Category 2 Hurricane in Eastern Pacific, NHC Says

Hurricane Bud grew into a Category 2 storm with winds of 105 miles (169 kilometers) an hour as it moved north-northeast through the Pacific toward the southwestern coast of Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in an advisory shortly after 10:30 a.m. New York time.

The center of the storm will be near or just off the coast late tomorrow and Saturday, dropping as much as 6 inches (15 centimeters) of rain, the center said.
