May 21 (Bloomberg) -- The 30-stock Micex Index rose 2.1 percent to 1,298.42 by the close in Moscow.
The following were among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.
OAO Gazprom (GAZP RX) rose 2.6 percent to 142.02 rubles, snapping five days of declines and adding the most since April 27. Troika Dialog raised Russia’s gas export monopoly to buy from hold, citing low valuations.
Mail.ru (MAIL LI) fell 9.1 percent to $33.40 by 3:40 p.m. in London, the most since Dec. 6. The largest Russian-language Internet company and an investor in Facebook Inc. fell as the social networking site slid below its $38 initial offer price.
OAO Mobile TeleSystems (MTSS RX) added 1.4 percent to 208.90 rubles, the most since May 2. Russia’s biggest mobile operator advanced after first-quarter profit rose 59 percent from a year earlier as it cut financing costs and benefited from a stronger ruble.
OAO Rosneft (ROSN RX) fell 1.4 percent to 194.99 rubles, its lowest level since May 8. Russia’s biggest oil producer dropped as MSCI Inc. canceled a decision to increase the stock’s weighting in its Russia Index.
