May 17 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese investors were net buyers of foreign bonds during the week ended May 11 according to figures based on reports from designated major investors released by the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo.
Japanese investors bought 1259.7 billion yen ($15.7 billion) in overseas bonds and notes, sold 32.1 billion yen in overseas stocks and sold 21.5 billion yen in overseas short term securities. That results in a total net purchase of 1206.1 billion yen.
Foreign investors sold 128.7 billion yen in Japanese bonds, sold 258.6 billion yen in stocks, and bought 1104.4 billion yen in short term securities, resulting in a total net purchase of 717.1 billion yen.
