GM to Keep U.K Car Plant, Boost Output, Financial Mail Reports

May 13 (Bloomberg) -- General Motors Co. will keep its Vauxhall unit’s car plant in Ellesemere Port, U.K., and plans to boost production, the Financial Mail reported, citing unidentified officials.

The company plans to increase output of Astra passenger vehicles at the factory and will seek to sell more cars in the U.K., the newspaper reported. More than 80 percent of Astra Tourer vehicles produced in Ellesmere Port are currently exported, according to the newspaper.
