May 12 (Bloomberg) -- McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton topped qualifying for tomorrow’s Spanish Grand Prix to earn his third pole position of the season.
Hamilton beat out Williams’s Pastor Maldonado by 0.6 seconds in Barcelona to give McLaren its 150th Formula One pole. Hamilton has qualified first or second for all five races this season but has yet to win
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was third-fastest ahead of Lotus teammates Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen. Sauber’s Sergio Perez, Mercedes’s Nico Rosberg, two-time defending world champion and current series leader Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull, Mercedes’s Michael Schumacher and Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi rounded out the top-10 qualifiers.
