May 9 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 0.1 percent to 487.62.
Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Joint-Stock Co. (RAL VN), a maker of thermos flasks and fluorescent lighting products, advanced 4.7 percent to 36,000 dong. First-quarter net income increased 19 percent to 32 billion dong ($1.5 million), the company said in a statement on the bourse’s website. Revenue rose 22 percent to 614 billion dong in the same period, it said.
Construction Join-Stock Co. 47 (C47 VN) climbed 4.7 percent to 13,500 dong, the highest close since April 15, 2011. The company will pay a dividend of 1,250 dong a share on June 4, it said in a statement filed on the exchange’s website.
Hanoi Building Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (HBB VN), also known as Habubank, dropped 1.5 percent to 6,600 dong. Shareholders of Saigon-Hanoi Bank agreed to a merger with Habubank in a May 5 meeting, according to a statement on Saigon-Hanoi bank’s website.
