May 8 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the close in Buenos Aires. The Merval index gained 6 percent to 2,384.26.
Banco Macro SA (BMA AF) rose 10 percent to 9.2 pesos, its biggest increase since May 2010. Argentina’s largest lender by market share was raised to neutral from sell at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Empresa Distribuidora & Comercializadora Norte SA (EDN AF) jumped a record 22 percent to 0.93 peso. Argentina’s largest power distributor has increased 46 percent in the last two days after Buenos Aires-based newspaper El Cronista said the government is studying a nationalization of power wholesaler Cammesa.
Cia de Transporte de Energia Electrica en Alta Tension Transener SA (TRAN AF), the operator of the country’s national power grid, gained 15 percent to 0.82 peso.
