Mexico Stocks: America Movil, Gruma, Fibra Uno Were Active

May 7 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and prices are as of the close of trading.

The IPC index climbed 1.6 percent to 40,045.51.

America Movil SAB (AMXL MM), the wireless carrier controlled by billionaire Carlos Slim, climbed 4.9 percent to 18.66 pesos. Shares have gained 5.2 percent since May 2, the day before the Federal Competition Commission said it agreed to overturn a fine of almost $1 billion in exchange for a reduction in company wireless fees and offering calls to competitors for no additional charge.

Gruma SAB (GRUMAB MM), the world largest maker of corn and wheat tortillas, fell 2.8 percent to 33.20 pesos. Banco Santander SA removed the stock from its list of top recommendations, according to a research note dated today.

Fibra Uno Administracion SA (FUNO11 MM), Mexico’s first real-estate investment trust, climbed 4.3 percent to 26.49 pesos after it was added to Santander’s top picks.
