May 7 (Bloomberg) -- Deutsche Telekom AG has reached an agreement with the Ver.di union to increase the wages of employees at its Telekom Deutschland unit by 6.5 percent over two years, the union said.
The accord, which must still be approved by the union’s salary commission in a Berlin meeting tomorrow, affects 50,000 workers, Ver.di said in an e-mailed statement.
Ver.di added that negotiations with Deutsche Telekoom’s T-Systems unit workers over wages will resume May 15. Deutsche Telekom confirmed the agreement with Ver.di in a separate statement.
