April 30 (Bloomberg) -- German labor union Ver.di called on bank employees in certain areas of the country to go on strike today before a third round of pay negotiations starting May 3, DPA said, citing Ver.di spokeswoman Martina Soennichsen.
Munich-based employees of UniCredit SpA as well as staff of Commerzbank AG and NordLB based in Bremen and Hanover are called to go on strike today, DAP said. Ver.di is demanding a 6 percent wage increase for 220,000 workers and employers, DPA said.
