Algerian Car Imports Rise 17% in First Quarter 2012, APS Reports

April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Algeria’s car imports increased by 17 percent to 102,720 vehicles in the first quarter of 2012 compared with 87,962 in the same period last year, the state-run APS news agency reported today, citing Algerian Customs.

The value of vehicle imports increased by almost 22 percent to 97.7 billion Algerian dinars ($1.31 billion) in the first quarter of 2012 from 80.40 billion dinars over the same period in 2011, according to Customs department figures.
