April 26 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei. The benchmark Taiex Index lost 0.6 percent to 7,521.35.
Acer Inc. (2353 TT) lost 1.3 percent to NT$33.45. Taiwan’s largest computer maker’s first-quarter net income slumped 72 percent to NT$331 million ($11 million) from NT$1.18 billion a year earlier, the Taipei-based company said in a statement yesterday. The average of 15 analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg was for profit of NT$647 million.
HTC Corp. (2498 TT) dropped 3.7 percent to NT$453, the lowest close since Jan. 10. The smartphone maker’s share-price estimate was cut 18 percent to NT$478 at UBS AG.
Realtek Semiconductor Corp. (2379 TT) gained 4.8 percent to NT$61, the biggest advance since Feb. 7. The integrated circuit maker was raised to buy from neutral by Jih Sun Securities Ltd.
