April 25 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies’ shares may have unusual moves in European trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose 1 percent to 254.37. The Stoxx 50 Index increased 0.8 percent to 2,396.85. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, gained 1.8 percent to 2,284.08.
BP Plc (BP/ LN): A former engineer at Europe’s second-largest oil firm, Kurt Mix, was arrested on charges of intentionally destroying evidence requested by the U.S. about the size of the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, in the first criminal case arising from the incident. The shares rose 1.6 percent to 436.60 pence.
Telenet Group Holding NV (TNET BB): The Belgian cable operator controlled by Liberty Global Inc. bought back 159,000 shares from April 16 through April 24, for between 30.50 and 32.08 euros. The shares gained 0.4 percent to 31.90 euros.
