April 21 (Bloomberg) -- Smith & Nephew Plc, Europe’s biggest maker of artificial hips and knees, is planning to move some of its manufacturing operations to China from Britain, the Hull Daily Mail reported, citing a company spokeswoman.
The move will result in at least 40 job losses at a factory in Hull, England, according to the report. The shift to a factory in Suzhou, China, is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year, the newspaper said.
