Dortmund Beats Monchengladbach to Retain German Bundesliga Title

April 21 (Bloomberg) -- Borussia Dortmund beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 to claim its second consecutive championship in German soccer’s Bundesliga.

Ivan Perisic and Shinji Kagawa scored the goals as Dortmund secured its fifth title since the Bundesliga was founded in 1963. Dortmund also extended its unbeaten run to 26 games, the longest in a single season in the German league’s history.

Dortmund leads second-place Bayern Munich, which beat Werder Bremen 2-1, by eight points with two matches left.

Montpellier extended its lead over Paris Saint-Germain in France’s Ligue 1 with a 1-0 home win over Valenciennes. Souleymane Camara scored in the fifth minute as Montpellier moved five points ahead of PSG, which plays Sochaux tomorrow.
