April 19 (Bloomberg) -- Avangardco Investments Public Ltd., a Ukrainian egg producer, said output rose by 11.3 percent in the first quarter compared with the year-earlier period, as the number of hens increased.
Production climbed to 1.55 billion eggs from 1.39 billion, Kiev-based Avangardco said today in an e-mailed statement.
Exports soared by 84.2 percent, to 110.8 million eggs, as the company moved into new markets such as Mauritania and Libya, according to the statement.
The average egg price increased by 37 percent from a year earlier, Avangardco said.
